An Air-dried Toothbrush Is A Healthy Toothbrush

An Air-dried Toothbrush Is A Healthy Toothbrush Cincinnati

At the Pediatric Dental Center in Burlington, we advise parents to teach their kids how to care for their toothbrush. This helps them to keep their teeth as healthy as possible.

One of the most important habits you can form, no matter your age, is to always let their toothbrush completely air dry between uses. The best way to do this is to place it in a toothbrush holder on the counter with the bristles pointing up. This is much better than sticking it away in a drawer, since it will take longer to dry in there.

Also, when you travel make sure everyone’s toothbrush is dry before sealing them in a travel container.

Additional Tips

We also recommend (very highly) that toothbrushes be replaced every three months or so. You don’t need to mark your calendar or set up an alert on your phone, but try to keep track of how long you’ve been using one.

While we’re at it: use a soft-bristled toothbrush. They’re much easier on your gums.

At the Pediatric Dental Center, we want the best possible dental health for all of our patients. So make sure your youngsters brush and floss daily and follow the tips in this post.
