Devon M. Cooper
Dr. Devon Cooper was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and at the age of 10 had a big move to the deep south of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. He attended the University of South Alabama where he received his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with a minor in Spanish.
Dr. Cooper has always wanted to be a dentist. A pediatric dentist had an impact on him at the age of 8 which influenced him to pursue a career in dentistry. He attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry.
During dental school he served as president of the Student National Dental Association and participated in community activities such as: Lessons in a Lunchbox, Special Olympics, and the Health Careers Opportunity Program. Dr. Cooper has already won many awards in his early career. These awards include the Delta Dental Student Leadership Award, the Community Dentistry and Public Health Award, the AAPD Predoctoral Student Award, the Southern Academy of Prosthodontics Award, the Quintessence Award, and was awarded second place in the Dentsply/Caulk National Research Competition.
Dr. Cooper completed his pediatric dental training and his Master’s in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco. At UCSF he served as the chief resident for Global Health and Outreach initiatives.
In his spare time, Dr. Cooper loves traveling, playing sports, working out, and spending time with his family. He is still learning to dance!
